IRAQI DOCTORS IN USA
Clinical Attachment Program
Thank you for your interest in our program! This initiative not only enriches the medical community in Iraq but also fosters meaningful connections between the healthcare systems of the US and Iraq. We aim to build a robust network of young US-trained Iraqi professionals to support and revitalize the Iraqi medical system.
What is a clinical attachment?
-
Specialty: Primary Care
-
Location: Atlanta GA at Dr. Liza Hasso - L & H Internal Medicine
-
Duration: One month and can be extended, if requested by the candidate and there is availability.
-
Cost: Training is provided free of charge by our volunteer doctors. However, applicants are responsible for covering personal expenses such as travel, lodging, insurance, and any other associated costs.
A clinical attachment (observership) will help you prepare for working in the US health system. It allows you to gain an overview of medical processes and systems, by observing an attending licensed physician. During the attachment, you are not given any responsibility and are not able to make clinical decisions or give clinical advice.
While 80% of your time will be dedicated to clinical training, the remaining 20% will provide a strong foundation in health policy, financial wellness, research methodology, and cross-cultural topics.
Upon successful completion of training, we can provide a letter of recommendation to strengthen your US residency application, subject to a performance review and if requested. Additionally, we will leverage our extensive network of Iraqi doctors in the US to assist you in securing interviews and provide mentorship throughout the application season.
